The Shear Outback Exhibition is centred on the colour and passion of the shearer’s life and work in the great woolsheds of the nation. The experience begins in the Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame, a glorious light filled avenue built in 2001as a testament to the great guns of today and yesteryear.
You’ll meet Jackie Howe, Kevin Sarre, Julian Stuart, John Hutchinson and more in the legend’s display and Sound show.
You'll see some impressive historic artefacts, beginning with a 1926 Marshal Steam Engine and an historic dump press. And you’ll marvel at our glorious contemporary architecture, which uses the traditional materials of wood and steel in new and contemporary ways and has already won several State and National Architecture Awards for architect Paul Berkemeier.
The Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame at Shear Outback currently celebrates 18 legends of the industry with induction of further legends occurring on a biennial basis at Shear Outback’s Festival of the Blades.
